Groundskeeper

Seasonal!

You’re ready to hit the ground running.

You’re skilled enough to do some big things (running snowplows) and some small (changing light bulbs, hanging pictures) – and you’re happy to do both. You prefer a friendly community setting rather than an impersonal business. You keep our community running smoothly and knowing how much you are helping the staff and residents makes your work more satisfying. If you’d love to help us keep our communities well-maintained, beautiful, and safe, we believe you’d make a great Groundskeeper at Ohio Living.

Why Ohio Living is different

  • The more variety the better. You’re knowledgeable in many areas of grounds and landscaping work and you love to share your skills. We have plenty of acreage for you to take care of, which means your days will all be unique and interesting.
  • No task too big or small. If you can handle it, we’ll let you. In addition to the big tasks, you might be asked to shovel snow, mow the grass, repair fencing, or even paint as needed.
  • The community’s resource. You’ll become a valued member of our community and we will rely on you. It’s much more rewarding to build those relationships than it is to work on a job site or in an empty office building.
  • Safety is paramount. Everything you do will add to the comfort and safety of residents and patients. Making sure that outdoor walkways are clear from tripping hazards will be a part of your day.
  • Attractive pay and benefits. We offer everything you expect, plus a retirement plan, paid time off, education assistance, pay advances up to $500, recognition programs and free meals.

What you’ll do

You will be working on day-to-day landscaping and grounds maintenance. Depending on the season and need, this could include anything from lawn grooming, edging, weeding, shrub trimming, and mulching to plowing and salting roads, walkways, entrances, and driveways. You’ll be on your feet and on the go!

What it takes

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • No experience required because on-the-job training is always provided
  • Knowledge of lawn and landscaping methods, tools, and equipment is helpful
